Congress Fails to Secure Vice-President in Rajgarh as BJP Surprises with Unopposed Win

Rajgarh in Pachhad constituency of Sirmaur district witnessed a major twist on Wednesday with the Congress party not being able to make its vice-president despite having 5 councillors out of 7 wards. Significantly, despite having 5 councillors, the Congress party was elected unopposed for the post of president of Nagar Panchayat Rajgarh with Vikram Zaldar and two councillors along with Narendra Thakur of the Bharatiya Janata Party. For the post of president and vice-president, no councillor made any nomination before the SDM and Returning Officer. In the election of president and vice-president, the BJP laid such a political bed. The Congress was upset. The post of vice-president in the Nagar Panchayat was given unopposed to the BJP, which has only two out of 7 councillors. The Congress party has more than an absolute majority. This development is being seen as a setback for the Congress on the post of vice-president. The name of the vice-president was also nominated by the Congress.
