Thiruvananthapuram: After nine days of wrangling in the Congress, the name of the Chief Minister of Kerala has finally been finalised. VD Satheesan will be the next Chief Minister of Kerala. VD Satheesan's name was decided in the Congress Legislature Party meeting. Now the Congress Kerala Committee is likely to meet Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar and stake claim to form the government in the state. After 10 days of intense discussions following the decisive mandate given to the UDF in the 2026 assembly elections, the name of the Chief Minister of Kerala has been finalised. Congress on Thursday declared VD Satheesan as the leader of the Kerala Congress Legislature Party. The decision was taken after more than a week of intense discussions and frequent visits of Kerala party leaders to Delhi. With this announcement, KC Venugopal and Ramesh Chennithala announced that the Congress will start the process of forming the government in the state. With this, the tussle between the party bigwigs for the top post of the state and several days of stalemate, KC Venugopal and KC Venugopal will also stake claim to form the government.
