Congress Leader Predicts Change in Power in Assam

Speaking at the power conference on the second day of TV9 Network's brainstorming session'What India Thinks Today Summit 2026 ', Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar claimed that the people of Assam want change. Congress will come to power there. He said that the people of Assam have elected Congress president (Gaurav Gogoi). He is a very senior leader. Under his leadership, the entire Congress party is united and working very hard and there will be a change in power. He said that earlier Assam was a Congress-ruled state, but for the last 10 years there is no Congress rule there, but the people of Assam want a new and young and uncharged face to emerge there. Congress party will come to power there. He said that he does not want to make any comment on BJP. He does not want to make any comment on BJP leadership and BJP candidate nor does he want to make any comment on BJP chief minister. To this question, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said that he decides 30 percent of Congress tickets. DK Shivakumar said that we are all dreaming at night, but how can he make decisions about the party.
