Karnataka Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribe Development Corporation scam-tainted Congress leader B. Nagendra has announced his resignation from his post. Amid allegations of scam and verbal attacks from opposition BJP, he said that he is submitting his resignation. While announcing his resignation, B. Nagendra categorically denied the allegations against him. He wept and said, "Is my signature anywhere in any of the transactions of Valmiki Corporation? I am being targeted just because I come from a downtrodden class." He targeted the opposition and said that 1000 lies are being spread against me daily. Nagendra questioned the banks, "Banks were involved in this whole matter. Is the Union Finance Minister not responsible for this? The people of Karnataka are watching." Actually, after the suicide of P. Chandrasekaran, the accounts superintendent of the corporation in May 2024, the case of 89.63 crore unauthorized transaction came to the fore again. Nagendra was included in the BJP's cabinet on 3rd June 2026, after which he was included in the statistics department.
