Polling and counting for 2 Rajya Sabha seats in Jharkhand were held on Thursday, 18 June. In this election, Indian National Congress candidate Pranav Jha lost the election. Jharkhand Mukti Morcha's Baidyanath Ram won. The most shocking victory was of Parimal Nathwani. The Bharatiya Janata Party did not field its candidate but supported Nathwani. The NDA was 4 votes short of winning, although Nathwani got the necessary 28 votes for victory. Now questions are being raised whether the countdown of the India Alliance government has started in Jharkhand as well. In this context, Prabhat Khabar's senior bureau chief Anand Mohan said in a conversation with ABP Live that Parimal Nathwani's victory is definitely a setback for the Indian National Congress. Pranav Jha was an advisor to Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge. This means that he was a candidate of the Congress high command. Despite having the right numbers to win, his defeat undoubtedly indicates towards the stability of the government in the coming days.
