Congress MP Files Anticipatory Bail Plea Amid Sexual Harassment Allegations

Suspended Jawaharlal Nehru University professor and Congress MP from Manipur Angochama Bimol Akoijam has filed an anticipatory bail plea in the Rouse Avenue Court. Congress MP Angochama Bimol Akoijam's anticipatory bail plea will be heard by the Rouse Avenue Court tomorrow. Congress MP Angochama Bimol Akoijam has been accused of sexual harassment by 11 female students while she was a professor at JNU. Congress MP Angochama Bimol Akoijam has been booked by the Delhi Police in the case. Also, the Delhi High Court has stayed JNU's dismissal order against Congress MP and Professor Angomacha Bimol Akoijam, giving her interim relief. She was dismissed after an internal inquiry into the sexual harassment allegations. She had challenged the decision, questioning the investigation process and alleging a conspiracy against her. On being expelled from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) over allegations of sexual harassment of female students, Congress MP Angochama Bimol Akoijam had said, "I have never felt my political life here again."
