The Congress has intensified its preparations for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections 2027. Within the party, Rahul Gandhi is working on a three-pronged strategy. This includes creating a new political foothold among the youth, strengthening the Congress organisation in Uttar Pradesh, and finalising an alliance with the Samajwadi Party (SP) before any dispute over seat sharing. According to a senior party leader, Rahul Gandhi is visiting Prayagraj for the third phase of the'Students'Goonj'programme. The Congress believes that Prayagraj has a historical and emotional connection with the Gandhi family. Anand Bhawan, the residence of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, was also a Congress office during the freedom struggle. Later Indira Gandhi donated it to the Government of India in 1970. There is a perception within the party that Rahul Gandhi's aggressive stance on student issues, from Parliament to roads, is strengthening the Congress's hold among Gen-Z and youth. According to party feedback, a large number of youth from Jantar Mantar in Uttar Pradesh, and Rahul Gandhi's desire to join the Congress in Uttar Pradesh ahead of the 2027 elections. Sources said that Priyanka Gandhi has reached out to the Congress to connect with her class 10 in Uttar Pradesh before the 2027 elections.
