Congress Protests Against Agniveer Scheme in Dehradun

In Dehradun, on Thursday (August 6), Congress's anger against the Agniveer scheme was seen on the streets. Hundreds of ex-servicemen, Congress office bearers and workers joined the protest despite heavy rains. Starting from the Congress office to Lansdowne Chowk, the protest rally raised slogans against the central government. This rally was organized by the Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Ex-Servicemen Unit under the chairmanship of Colonel Ram Ratan Singh Negi, Chairman of the Congress Ex-Servicemen Department. During this time many senior leaders of the party were also present, including Harak Singh Rawat, Chairman of the Election Management Committee, senior leader Suryakant Dhasmana. Addressing the rally, Congress leaders said that the party has been against the Agniveer scheme since the beginning. The leaders said that as soon as the Congress formed the government at the center, this scheme would be abolished and the permanent recruitment process in the army would be restored as before. Colonel Ram Ratan Singh Negi, referring to the military history of Uttarakhand, said that this is the land that gave the country two army chiefs and the son of Veer Sapna Vir Chakra.
