Congress Revamps Strategy for Gujarat Local Body Elections

Rajkot: Congress party has made a major change in its strategy for the upcoming local body elections in Gujarat. Congress is learnt to have chalked out a foolproof action plan to prevent bitter experiences of the past such as cancellation of nomination papers, last-minute change of mandate, and withdrawal of forms by candidates under financial or political pressure. Under the guidance of state Congress president Amit Chavda, the party is now taking special care not to concede defeat before the elections. According to digital media reports and recent political developments, Congress is now strengthening itself in technical matters before entering the political arena to deal with the temptations and dictatorship of the ruling party. As part of this strategy, Congress in-charges and leaders associated with the election process have been clearly instructed to keep another capable dummy or independent candidate ready along with the main candidate.
