Congress Workers Show Support for Charanjit Singh Channi During Event

The atmosphere suddenly heated up during Congress state president Raja Amrinder Singh Raja Warring's event in Patiala when a large number of Congress workers present there started loud sloganeering in support of the former chief minister. Chants of "Channi Zindabad" caused confusion for a while. There was a discussion among the people present at the spot as to for whom this message was being given. Later, while talking to the media, the workers made it clear that it was not just Raja Warring's programme but that of the Congress. They said that the purpose of raising slogans was to convey to the party high command that the Congress worker at the grassroots level was still standing firmly with Charanjit Singh Channi. The workers claimed that Charanjit Singh Channi had done many important works for the common people and the party workers. They believe that if the Congress has to come back stronger in the upcoming assembly elections, it is still possible for the party workers under the leadership of Charanjit Singh Channi to respond.
