Victims of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots and Sikh organisations on Sunday questioned the Congress decision to hold the Indi alliance rally on November 1. The timing of the rally also gave the BJP a political issue against the Congress in view of the Punjab Assembly elections due in 2027. On this day, a protest march was taken out by the BJP in West Delhi, in which victims'groups raised their objections and once again demanded justice. In West Delhi, people from the Sikh community and victims took out a march from Hari Nagar to Tilak Nagar. They demanded an apology from the Congress and Rahul Gandhi. The march was attended by Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Manjinder Singh Sirsa and senior lawyer एच.एस Phoolka. Phoolka has been fighting legal battles on behalf of riot victims for decades. Before the rally, Phoolka had said, "1st November is a black day not only for Sikhs, but for the entire country (Friday is a black day). Congress should also raise its objection on the timing of the 1984 riots victimization rally."
