Priyavrat Singh Khinchi, a board member of the college and former power minister in the Congress government, has raised serious questions about the organisation of political and ideological organizations on the college campus. He has sent a long e-mail to the board, strongly objecting to the meeting of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, the preparation of the statue of Swami Vivekananda and the functioning and policies of the institution. Indore Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava has also given his reaction to this whole matter. He has sharply targeted the Congress party and Priyavrat Singh. After the mayor's response, this internal matter of the college has now become the main topic of a heated political debate and the rhetoric from both sides. AdvertisementPriyavrat Singh has written in his e-mail that Daly College has a glorious history of about 150 years and the institution has a distinct academic and public identity. According to him, the campus was never installed any other statue before. Before the approval of the statue of Devi Ahilya, only the statue of Sir Henry Daly can be installed here. Swami Vivekananda has also raised questions about the preparation of the institution.
