The Rekha Gupta government of Delhi has made several major announcements simultaneously to strengthen the health services in the state. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta informed during the ASHA Conference-2026 that the incentive amount of ASHA workers has been doubled. Apart from this, new provisions related to organ donation, newborn screening and nursing home arrangements have also been introduced. The Chief Minister informed on his official X handle that these initiatives related to Delhi's health services have been taken forward along with Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu in the program organized under the'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan '. During this time, a large number of ASHA workers were present besides cabinet colleague Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh. The government's decision will have the most direct impact on 6690 ASHA workers of Delhi. The incentive amount for these health workers will now be Rs 6000 instead of Rs 3000. ASHA workers play an important role in activities related to door-to-door health services. The government says that the increase in the incentive amount will provide them financial support and will also strengthen the system of organ donation at the grassroots level.
