Delhi Government to Launch Interstate Bus Service for Six Major Cities in Bihar

The Delhi government has decided to start a new interstate bus service for six major cities of Bihar to give relief to lakhs of migrants of Purvanchal before Chhath Mahaparv. The Delhi and Bihar governments will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in this regard in the month of September. After this, the service will be formally started immediately after Diwali and before Chhath. This interstate bus service will directly connect Delhi with Patna, Gaya, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, Purnia and Bhagalpur. According to Dr. Pankaj Singh, Transport Minister of the Delhi government, the MoU will be signed with the Transport Department of the Bihar government in the month of September. After this, the bus service will be started immediately after Diwali and before Chhath Mahaparv to give relief to lakhs of passengers going to Bihar during the festival. He informed that about 70 new buses will be run in the first phase of the plan. These buses will run regularly between Delhi and six major cities of Bihar - Patna, Gaya, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, Purnia and Bhagalpur. The Transport Minister clarified that the number of these buses will not be limited to Chhath but will be increased every year.
