Political leaders and student activists also gathered at Delhi's Jantar Mantar on Sunday (October 4) to protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Clashes between protesters and police were also seen during the protest. Apart from various student organisations, political figures also joined the AISA protest. Meanwhile, Latika Dikshit, daughter of former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, was also detained along with students by the police. She suffered minor injuries during the protest. Delhi University students removed barricades during the protest and moved forward. Earlier on Saturday, protesters also gathered following a call by AISA national president Neha Bora. Bora was detained on Friday. She asked the activists to return to Jantar Mantar at one o'clock and continue the protest. Demonstrators are demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over concerns about the Special Intensive Review (SIR) of electoral rolls. Several security personnel were deployed near the protest site.
