Democrat Amy Acton Wins Ohio Gubernatorial Election, Defeating Trump-Backed Opponent

Democratic nominee Dr. Amy Acton has won the Ohio gubernatorial race, defeating Trump-backed Indian-American Republican nominee Vivek Ramaswamy. Amy Acton became the first woman to be elected to the state's highest office by winning Ohio's gubernatorial election, the first time in 20 years that a Democrat has won the gubernatorial election. Ramaswamy and her Republican colleagues spent more than $100 million to win against Amy Acton, according to reports. Despite this, Amy Acton was elected governor of Ohio. Acton, 60, made "affordable health care" and better access to them a mainstay of her campaign. She attracted working- and middle-class voters by sharing experiences from her personal life. Amy Acton, who is from Ohio, told campaigners how she spent part of her childhood without a home and spent a winter in a tent. Amy Donald Trump is "regaining" her lost political ground.
