Digvijay Singh Joins Teacher Recruitment Protest in Bhopal, Warns of Hunger Strike

The agitation by candidates at Bhopal's Neelam Park demanding increase in posts and filling of vacancies in Madhya Pradesh Teacher Recruitment-2025 took a political turn on Wednesday. Former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh reached among the candidates sitting on an indefinite dharna for the last six days and supported their demands. Digvijay Singh warned the government that if the problems of the candidates were not resolved soon, he would himself launch a 24-hour hunger strike from September 5, Teacher's Day. Addressing the candidates, Digvijay Singh referred to his tenure. He said that about 45 thousand new schools were opened during his rule and local authority was given in the recruitment process to provide employment opportunities to the local youth. He also raised questions about the new syllabus. He alleged that experienced teachers teaching on the basis of the old syllabus for a long time were facing challenges due to the new syllabus. The former Chief Minister targeted the BJP and the RSS, saying that the government should focus on education and employment issues, but former Minister Digvijay Singh was also raising questions on the religious place.
