Amar Ujala Bureau and Read Trending Videos Dr. Girish Tyagi has won the Delhi Medical Association (DMA) representative election for Delhi Medical Council (DMC). On Sunday, the DMA election was successfully held. Five candidates were in the fray for the election of one member. In the election, Dr. Girish Tyagi got 1276 votes, Dr. Abhishek Garg 41, Dr. Ashok Hans 71, Dr. Poonam Gulati 790, and Dr. Vijay Malhotra 49 votes. The Delhi government's audit department had revealed financial irregularities regarding the special audit of DMC. It had accused the then registrar of DMC, Dr. Girish Tyagi, of causing a loss of more than five crore rupees to the exchequer. In the advertisement, DMA president Dr. Neelam Lekhi congratulated Dr. Girish Tyagi on the victory and said that this election was held in a completely free, fair, and transparent manner. The result of the election will be formally announced before May 20. Eight members of the council are nominated by the government.
