Chandigarh: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) performs raid at Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Dr Amandeep Kaur Arora’s residence in Pubjab’s Moga on Wednesday. This comes days after party announced her candidature for the 2027 Assembly elections. The searches are part of an ongoing investigation, though the specific details and alleged links prompting the action were not immediately available. As per reports, ED officials reached Arora’s house on Wednesday early morning and started a search. The search also included questioning in the case, while more information about the investigation and seizures was being awaited. Arora is the incumbent MLA of Moga Assembly constituency and is also the president of Punjab AAP women’s wing. She was among the 40 sitting MLAs who were declared candidates by the party in its first list of candidates for the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections, released on 31 October. The ED action comes amid heightened political activity in Punjab ahead of the next Assembly elections, scheduled for early 2027. The AAP has so far announced its first list of 40 candidates, including Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann from Dhuri. Senior Deputy Mayor of Moga Municipal Corporation, Rakesh Kumar Bajaj, says, “The team arrived at the MLA’s residence around 3:00 AM. They haven’t allowed anyone to enter; they’ve locked the place down. They aren’t even letting water or tea be taken inside… Just watch, they’ll end up issuing a ‘clean chit’, just like the ED did previously. They are only conducting raids in states where their own party is not in power. Their sole objective is to defame the government. But the people of Punjab stand with the Punjab government; it will be re-elected… Raids have taken place at two locations—I believe the second one is at his flat… We are demanding that we be allowed inside… Whatever is happening, it should happen in our presence…” #WATCH | Moga, Punjab: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducts a raid at the residence of AAP MLA and Punjab Women’s Wing President Dr Amandeep Kaur Arora.
