Elderly Woman Robbed of Jewelry Worth Rs. 2.75 Lakhs in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: In Ramol area of Ahmedabad, an elderly woman returning home with vegetables was stopped by a gang of con women and robbed of jewellery worth Rs. 2. 75 lakhs. The con women told the old woman to trap her, "Our sister is refusing to take the stolen money, you are the elder one, if you come and convince her, she might believe it." Thereafter, the gang took the gold jewellery from the old woman by saying, "You give us your ornaments for a while." In return, the three con women fled after dropping two packets containing pieces of paper and plastic bangles. Realizing that they had been cheated, the old woman informed the family members and lodged a complaint at the police station. The 68-year-old lives with the family. Ten days ago, they were returning home with vegetables. Three unidentified women stopped them by shouting. The women came near the old woman and said, "We are not going to give our sister's money from Bihar Sheth's house. We are not going to kill her."
