Election Commission Appointee Faces Allegations Over Wife's Presence at Polling Stations

These days, the Election Commission has appointed 84 police observers in the state for the assembly elections. Of these, serious allegations have been raised against one police observer. The TMC has released photos and claimed that the police observer for these places is Manikchak, Mothabari, Sujapur and Baishnabnagar in Malda. The police observer for these places is Jayanta's wife. The BJP's wife, Jamui's wife, has filed a complaint with the Election Commission. On Tuesday evening, state minister Bratya Basu and Barrackpore MP Partha Bhowmik held a press conference at Trinamool Bhavan. Pictures of Jayanta Kant, the police observer in charge of four stations in Malda, and his wife were released. The woman is seen in multiple pictures with Jayanta. One picture also shows Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chowdhury. The TMC has also questioned the appointment of Jayanta as a police observer for Manikchak, Mothabari, Sujapur and Baishnabnagar in Malda.
