Election Commission Clarifies Form 6 Format, Removes Additional Declaration Form

In the midst of the controversy over SIR, the Election Commission has given a big update about Form 6. The Commission has clarified that there was no change in the original format of the statutory Form 6. An additional declaration form was being taken with it during SIR. Now in the states where the process of SIR has been completed, this additional declaration form has been removed from the online Form 6. New voters in these states will now only need to fill the original Form 6. CJP founder Abhijit Dipke has reacted to this. He wrote on X why it was necessary earlier. There were persistent questions about Form 6 and the declaration form regarding SIR. After the meeting of the Election Commission on 26 September, information about this arrangement was revealed by the commission. According to the commission, in the states with SIR, a separate declaration form with Form 6 of the new voter was used. The purpose of this was to make mapping of the new voter from the old voter record easier. However, on 30 September, the Election Commission decided to remove this additional declaration form 6 with the full form 6, which is associated with the general system.
