Election Commission Issues Guidelines for Bike Services Ahead of Bengal Polls

These days, the Election Commission had issued a number of guidelines regarding bikes for free and fair elections. This time, there was some relief. The commission's earlier order was slightly modified. It said that it is also issuing special guidelines to Ola, Uber, Zomato, and Swiggy. All those who provide these services will need to have valid ID cards. Officials who will be on the road will check these ID cards properly. It is very important that these are accurate. The commission took this step so that such services do not get bumped on the polling days. On Tuesday, the Election Commission made a big announcement regarding the use of bikes. The commission released a guideline and said that a series of restrictions have been imposed on biking across the state to prevent disturbances in order to make the elections free, fair, peaceful, and violence-free in Bengal. The guideline will come into effect two days before the polls. According to the guidelines, motorbikes will not be used from 6 am to 6 pm on the day before the election. The ban on riding motorcycles or riding motorcycles will not be applicable from 6 pm to 6 pm on the day of the election.
