Former BRS leader K. Kavitha has suffered a major setback over the name of her newly formed political party. The Election Commission has directed her to change the name of her party'Telangana Rakshana Sena '. The Commission has said that the current name and its acronym'TRS'are similar to the already used name. This may create confusion among the voters. In fact, K Kavitha had named her new party'Telangana Rakshana Sena ', which is an acronym for TRS. The same acronym was earlier for'Telangana Rashtra Samithi '. The name of this party was later changed to'Bharat Rashtra Samithi'( BRS). However, the acronym of the old name TRS remained the party's identity for a long time. This led to a dispute over the name of the party. BRS chief K. Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) and senior leader K. T Rama Rao (KTR) had raised objections to her before the Election Commission. Kavitha said that the new name could influence the electoral process.
