Election Commission Rejects Report of Internal Disagreements Over Special Intensive Revision Decisions

The Election Commission on Wednesday rejected a report on differences among election commissioners over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), saying all decisions taken in the past one year have been unanimous. The commission said it is part of the normal process for any institution to have different opinions and observations during deliberations. The aim is to maintain transparency and ensure compliance with legal norms. In this case, Rahul Gandhi has released a video calling vote-stealing against the Constitution. He said no one will be spared when the time comes. The report was published on September 23. Two election commissioners of the EC, Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi, said that many decisions were taken without their knowledge or approval. The commission's decisions were objected to in writing 14 times between October 28, 2025, and August 14, 2026. Four objections were filed on April 16. Gyanesh Kumar, who is also supervising the work, sent some objections to the Bihar deputy election commissioner.
