Ethiopia's Peace Agreement Breaks Down, Violence Escalates in Tigray Region

The territory of East Africa has once again turned into a battlefield. After the Sudan and Somalia war, now the news coming from Ethiopia has raised the concern of the whole world. In 2022, when a peace agreement was made in Pretoria, South Africa, everyone thought that now the guns will be silent forever. But within two years, that agreement broke down completely. Now the violence has increased so much that the rebel group has captured 3 big airports in Mekelle, Aksum and Shire of Tigray. Different areas of Ethiopia are ruled by its own army and local fighting groups instead of governments. The leader of the opposition party TPLF, Abdisalam Balema, says that the central government did not fulfill its promises. The government neither allowed the local government to be formed there nor removed the restrictions on essential facilities like petrol-diesel, banks and cash. It is also a big reason for the outbreak of this new war that millions of people of Tigray region have been forcibly displaced by the Amharic war.
