Explosions Rock Tehran Amid Uncertainty Over US-Iran Ceasefire

Iran's capital Tehran was rocked by multiple explosions early Thursday morning. Local reports and messages from people said the explosions occurred in the eastern and western parts of the city. At least 5 explosions were claimed. Many said the sounds were like air defense systems being activated. The first sound was reported in the Pardis area of eastern Tehran at around 2: 50 a.m. Reports of continuous explosions were also reported from the western parts, especially the Chitgar area. However, there is no official confirmation yet about the cause of these explosions. According to an Iranian media outlet Iran International, the incident came at a time when the two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran was about to end, but President Donald Trump announced its extension. Despite this, the situation on the ground still does not seem completely normal. Meanwhile, there were no reports about the negotiations. The US Vice President, who is leading the JDS, was unable to meet with the Iranian press secretary due to the White House team's visit.
