Fadnavis Clears Air on Rumors of Joining Central Politics

There has been speculation for some time now about Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis's move to central politics. After meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he cleared the air about rumours of him being made a minister at the Centre. He dismissed speculations of him moving to national politics. Fadnavis said that the people of Maharashtra and the central leadership have entrusted him with the responsibility of the state, which he will continue to perform. He said, "Whether I live in Delhi or Mumbai, people keep speculating. I think many people have nothing to do, so they enjoy discussing about me. Let them have fun." He said that the people of Maharashtra and PM Modi have entrusted him with the responsibility of the state and he will continue to serve the state. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi on Monday (August 17) and held detailed discussions on various important subjects. After the meeting, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a successful leader of the country and India's new development projects are getting global recognition."
