The ED had issued multiple summons to the fire minister in connection with its probe into the South Dum Dum Municipal recruitment corruption case since before the elections. It also reached the Calcutta High Court. He was finally discharged after the court's intervention. So, a day after the polling ended, Sujit Bose confronted the ED officials. The fire minister reportedly arrived at the CGO complex at 10.26 am. On 23 April, Justice Krishna Rao ordered him to appear before the ED on 1 May. Sujit Bose arrived at the CGO earlier in the day, as directed by the court. He was accompanied by his son Samudra Bose and two lawyers. He also had several documents in his possession.
