Guwahati is set to host the Fit India Carnival 2026 from February 26 to February 28 at Arya Vidyapith College Ground, Birubari, as part of the nationwide Fit India Movement. The carnival is regarded as one of the country’s largest fitness events and saw significant participation in New Delhi last year. Following that edition, the festival is being expanded to different parts of the country. In Guwahati, the event is being organised by the Sports Authority of India, Guwahati, with a focus on incorporating regional elements and cultural representation from the Northeast. The three-day programme has been planned as a fitness and wellness festival promoting physical fitness, mental well-being, awareness about nutrition and traditional sports through a range of activities. Sessions have been designed for participants across age groups and will include Zumba, yoga workshops, structured exercise routines, interactive fitness challenges and traditional games led by certified trainers. Speaking about the event, the official authority of SAI Guwahati said, “Fit India Carnival 2026 is more than a fitness event. It inspires individuals and families to prioritise health and celebrate wellness together. We invite everyone to join this collective celebration of fitness.” The organisers expect participation from students, families and fitness enthusiasts from across Assam and other parts of the Northeast.
