Anil Sharma was a four-time MLA and also served as Minister of State for Forests in the Yogi government. His last rites will be performed tomorrow morning at his native village Surjawali. Anil Sharma was suffering from cancer and was undergoing treatment at a hospital in Delhi. The news of his demise has deeply saddened his supporters and the people of the area. The funeral procession was attended by hundreds of BJP leaders and workers including Noida MP Dr. Mahesh Sharma, Khurja MLA Meenakshi Singh, SSP, CDO. Anil Sharma had started his political career as an unopposed pradhan of village Surjawali. In the year 2002, he was elected MLA for the first time on a Bahujan Samaj Party ticket from Khurja assembly seat. He became MLA for the second time from the same seat in 2007. After losing the 2012 election from Shikarpur seat on a BSP ticket, he joined the BJP and was elected MLA from Shikarpur assembly seat on a BJP ticket in 2017.
