Four Killed in Road Accident on Newly Constructed National Highway-72A in Dehradun

A major road accident has taken place on the newly constructed National Highway-72A (Mohabbewala) in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. Wednesday's road accident at Mohabbewala on the road leading from Asharodi to ISBT here has claimed four lives. Patel Nagar police have filed a case against the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and the Public Works Department (PWD). The FIR alleges that both the departments responsible for the operation and maintenance of the road did not even put up warning boards near the potholes on the roadside. The car and the trailer collided at Mohabbewala in Patel Nagar police station area at around 3.30 pm on Wednesday. Four people, including three members of the same family, in the car were killed on the spot while a six-year-old child trapped in the car was pulled out safely by the police. The FIR alleges negligence on the part of these road maintenance agencies.
