Four Top Google Engineers Leave to Start New AI Startup, Shares Fall

Google has suffered a big blow. Four of the company's most experienced engineers and AI scientists, Jeff Dean, Sanjay Ghemawat, Oriol Vinals, and Kwok Lee, have decided to leave the company. All four are now starting a new AI startup called Discovery Loop. As soon as this news came out, the shares of Google's parent company Alphabet fell by about 4 percent. Investors are worried that big names are constantly leaving Google's AI team. Jeff Dean's departure is being considered the biggest news. This is because he was Google's 30th employee. He joined the company in 1999 and worked at Google for about 27 years. He had a big contribution in creating many important technologies that drive Google Search. Later he started Google Brain and furthered AI research. He also played an important role in starting the Hardware Tensor Processing Unit (TPU) project. TPU's Gemini Giders are the most influential engineers in Google today.
