GHAZIABAD: Allegations of a fourth marriage and possession of property by 70-year-old former councillor and SP leader Haji Khalil in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, have stirred political and social circles. The matter came to the fore when his divorced second wife complained to police officials and levelled serious allegations. However, the police investigation did not corroborate these allegations and the entire matter was found to be related to a family property dispute. Meanwhile, the Samajwadi Party has also issued an official statement denying any organisational connection with Haji Khalil. The divorced wife had lodged a complaint against Haji Khalil, a resident of Chhota Kaila in Kotwali area of Ghaziabad, with his divorced second wife Nazreen alias Nazo, to the Additional CP Crime. In the complaint, they alleged that after their divorce in 2017, Iddat and Meher were given a market in Islamnagar. Nazreen said that now Haji Khalil and his first wife's son Rashid are trying to take possession of the market. Haji Khalil has also denied any organisational connection with the fourth marriage.
