A large quantity of government relief material was recovered from the office and a club associated with former Bengal minister and ex-cricketer Manoj Tiwari in Howrah's Balitukuri area on Friday. Government tarpaulin, blankets, other relief materials, some documents related to the land and a packet of condoms were also claimed to have been recovered from the spot. According to local sources, a large quantity of relief material was also claimed to have been recovered from the godown of former councillor Trilokesh Mondal in Ward No. 50 of Howrah. There were allegations of assault on a Trinamool worker during the raid. BJP workers then demonstrated in front of the house of Trinamool leader Biplab Dey, a close associate of Manoj Tiwari, in Dasnagar-Kashipur area. The BJP claims to have found relief material as well as knives, swords and hockey sticks from a club associated with Biplab Dey. BJP leader Manoj Goswami alleged that instead of distributing them to the general public, government relief material was illegally stocked for sale in the open market. According to local sources, the former minister's office was also claimed to have received a series of condoms from the panchayat.
