Ahmedabad, તા.27: As per the official data released by the State Election Commission, the voter turnout in Gujarat civic polls varied across the state. 49.02% in Municipal Corporations, 59.50% in Municipalities, 61.69% in District Panchayats and 62.38% in Taluka Panchayats. 55.38% polling was recorded in the by-elections held in some seats of Municipalities. 55.38% polling was reported in 15 Municipal Corporations, 84 Municipalities, 34 Zilla Panchayats and 260 Taluka Panchayats from 7 am to 6 pm. The elections covered more than 9,000 seats of urban and rural local bodies, in which more than four crore eligible voters participated. The elections were conducted using Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), with elaborate administrative and security arrangements in place, including the deployment of over 4 lakh police personnel in Surendranagar district, Surendranagar, and 4 lakh EVM's across Gujarat for the smooth conduct of the polls.
