Gujarat Legislative Assembly Passes Budgetary Demands for 2026-27 with Focus on Empowering Marginalized Groups

Gandhinagar: At the end of the discussion on the budgetary demands for the year 2026-27 of the General Administration Department in the Gujarat Legislative Assembly, provisions of ₹2051.27 crore have been passed by majority. On this occasion, Minister Ishwarsinh Patel said that the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel and Deputy Chief Minister Harshbhai Sanghvi is moving forward with the mantra of'Good Governance, Service, Resolve and Dedication '. This budget has a special focus on empowering the poor, youth, Annadata and Nari Shakti (GYAN). Decentralized Planning and Increase in MLA Grants: The budget under the Decentralized District Planning Program has been increased by ₹500 crore to a total of ₹2102 crore. In addition, the MLA Area Development Grant has been increased from ₹1.50 crore to ₹2.50 crore. To accelerate Prime Minister Narendra Modi's'Catch the Rain'campaign for environmental protection, now a minimum expenditure of ₹50 lakh has been made for the implementation of the'Gujarat Jal Sanchayogya Karmachari'scheme.
