Faridabad: Haryana Government has taken over the serious administrative and financial irregularities going on in Faridabad-based Al-Falah University. Senior IAS officer of 2003 batch Amit Kumar Agarwal has been appointed as the administrator of the university after the investigation committee report exposed the suspicious activities. Due to this historic intervention of the government, this private university, which was established in 2014, will now function under direct government supervision. Not only administrative laxity, but serious questions related to national security are also believed to be responsible behind the takeover of the university. Investigating agencies had found a link of some suspicious persons associated with the university in a case of a terrorist conspiracy, due to which the activities of the entire institution came under suspicion. In order to improve the quality of education and bring transparency, the government has started the purification of the university by making Dr. Ajay Ranga the new Vice-Chancellor and Dr. Rajiv Singh the Controller of Examinations. Despite these drastic changes, the government has clarified that there will be no setback to the studies of the students and the academic session will continue as scheduled.
