Hezbollah Offers Compensation to Families Affected by War with Israel

Hezbollah will compensate those whose homes have been completely destroyed or left uninhabitable in Lebanon during the war with Israel. The head of Hezbollah's executive council has announced assistance of up to US $14,000 to the affected families. During a press conference, Ali Damoush made several accusations against the Lebanese government. He said that it has failed to fulfill its responsibilities to help the displaced people. He said that the families whose homes have been destroyed in Beirut and its southern suburbs will be given US $14,000, while the affected families in the rest of Lebanon will receive US $12,000. Of this total amount, $8,000 is for furniture, while the rest is being paid for rent expenses. However, he did not say how many families will benefit from this scheme and how much it will cost in total. It is believed that this money came from Iran, which has provided Hezbollah with billions of dollars and US support over the decades. The purpose of this organization is to strengthen its political base and challenge the Iranian government.
