Himachal Municipal Corporation Results: BJP Wins Big in Mandi, Solan, and Dharamshala

Counting of votes began at 9 am in four municipal corporations of Himachal Pradesh - Dharamshala, Palampur, Mandi and Solan. Counting of votes for 250 Zila Parishad members and 1,684 Panchayat Samiti members out of 1,769 has also begun along with the Municipal Corporation. In Mandi Municipal Corporation, the BJP has registered a landslide victory by winning 12 out of 14 seats. The Congress and Independents have managed to win one seat each. In Dharamshala too, the BJP has won 11 out of 17 seats to retain the Mayor's and Deputy Mayor's chair. In Solan Municipal Corporation, too, the saffron party has won 11 out of 17 seats. The Congress has won five seats and there has been one independent. Between 15 and 20 tables have been set up for counting of Zila Parishad members. About 35 officers and staff will be deployed for counting of one ward. For one Zila Parishad of Lahaul Spiti, no one has filed nomination and a boycott has been observed.
