Preparations have started to give a new direction to the skill development of school students in Himachal Pradesh. The state government is going to recruit 1200 new teachers to strengthen vocational and skill-based education in schools. Education Minister Rohit Thakur said that in the changing era, only book education is not enough, but the need of the hour is to connect the students with job-oriented and practical education. After felicitating the principals of government and private schools for their excellent work at the Amar Ujala School Excellence Awards-2026 function in Shimla on Thursday, the Education Minister said that the government has taken many tough decisions in the education sector in three and a half years.
