Himalayan Serow Spotted for Third Time in Rupi Bhawa Wildlife Sanctuary

The Himalayan serow is considered to be an extremely shy and reclusive wildlife. It generally inhabits dense forests and steep mountain slopes, so its open sighting is quite rare. The Forest Department believes that this recording has once again confirmed the rich biodiversity in the Rupi Bhawa Wildlife Sanctuary. According to the records of the Advertisement Forest Department, the presence of the Himalayan serow in the Rupi Bhawa Wildlife Sanctuary was recorded in the year 2019. This was followed by the recording of this rare species in the Rakcham beat area of the Rakcham-Chitkul Wildlife Sanctuary in the year 2021-22. Now the new recording from the Chhota Kamba area is being considered a significant achievement.
