IIP Exhibition Showcases Bio-Binder Technology for Sustainable Road Construction

IIP held a technology exhibition event on bio-binder technology, which was attended by senior scientists, industry leaders and research associates. IIP Director डॉ.हरेंद्र Singh Bisht said that bio-binder technology is an important achievement towards sustainable road construction by converting agricultural and biomass waste into an eco-friendly alternative to petroleum-based bitumen. Long-term evaluation of a 100-metre-long bio-binder test section on NH-40 at Shillong under bio-binder technology has been successfully completed. Based on the successful results, the Government of Andhra Pradesh has launched a five-kilometre-long bio-binder based road construction evaluation programme. CSIR-CRRI is preparing its technical guidelines in collaboration with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, NHAI and Indian Road Congress. CSIR-CRRI Director Dr. C. Ravi Shekhar and industry representatives were present at the event.
