Amid rising military tensions in West Asia and the war involving Iran, new concerns have emerged about the Chabahar Port, one of the most important strategic projects between India and Iran. The port is not just a commercial project for India but is considered extremely important from a geopolitical and strategic point of view. Although the war is expected to affect the pace of this project, it has not been completely stopped and both countries appear to be in favor of continuing it. Chabahar Port is located on the Gulf of Oman in the southeast of Iran and India sees it as an alternative route to reach Afghanistan and Central Asia. India has been investing in this project for a long time and has spent more than $120 million on the development of the Shahid Beheshti Terminal located here. There is no direct land route between India and Afghanistan because Pakistan is in the middle. Through Chabahar Port, India can send goods to Iran by sea, through road and rail networks, and through the Chabahar Port, which can provide access to South Asia and Afghanistan. India-Pakistan International Trade Corridor (NACP) is an important part of India's trade route.
