Amid Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif's latest statement on the Indus Waters Treaty, former Minister of State for External Affairs MJ Akbar has slammed the neighbouring country, saying that blood and water cannot flow together. He has said that Pakistan's Prime Minister is concerned about every drop of Indus water. He calls it a red line, but he should remember that India's message is clear. There must be accountability for every drop of Indian blood spilt in Pakistan-sponsored terrorism and Pakistan has to answer for it. MJ Akbar bluntly said, "Blood and water cannot flow together." The former foreign minister gave this advice to Pakistan on Friday, Pakistan's Independence Day (August 14). Akbar further said in his statement, "The whole truth about Pakistan has been revealed by a big Pakistan leader and Jamiat chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman. He has told Pakistan's government, Prime Minister and army chief Field Marshal Asim Munir (Pakistan's de facto chief) that they should speak something before their former state minister" apart from lying "about it.
