Prime Minister Narendra Modi's efforts have led to significant progress in realizing Gujarat's ambitious Kalpsar project. During his visit to the Netherlands, PM Modi on Sunday visited Afsluitdijk, the famous water management structure in the Netherlands, along with the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Rob Zetten. He described the technology used in this dam as worth learning. There are many similarities between Afsluitdijk and Gujarat's Kalpsar project. A letter of intent was signed in the presence of the Prime Minister between India's Ministry of Jal Shakti and the Netherlands Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management for technical cooperation on the Kalpsar project. This has opened the doors for the project to move forward at a faster pace. Gujarat, which has been suffering from erratic rains and droughts for years, has been relieved from the construction of the Sardar Sarovar Dam, but can be said to be dependent on a single project to ensure long-term water security. Therefore, the then Chief Minister and current Prime Minister Modi's ambitious project in the Gulf of Khambhat, the Kalpasar, is a technically complex project in the Gulf of Khambha.
