India Rejects Pakistan's Interference in Jammu and Kashmir Affairs, Calls Out Terrorism Record

Neighbouring Pakistan has repeatedly refused to budge. Islamabad is now protesting the scrapping of Jammu and Kashmir's special status. This has been rejected outright by India. India has clearly stated that Islamabad's attempts to interfere in New Delhi's internal affairs are aimed at diverting attention from its poor record on human rights and terrorism. India scrapped Jammu and Kashmir's special status on this day (5 August) in 2019. Since then, Pakistan observes this day as Yaum-e-Istehsaal. Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, "India rejects Pakistan's attempts to spread false propaganda in the name of political absurdities and Yaum-e-Istehsaal. The constitutional changes made on 5 August 2019 are entirely an internal matter of India. These decisions have brought unprecedented socio-economic development, good governance and democratic empowerment to the people of the region. Pakistan has no right to comment on the internal affairs of India." Jaiswal said that Pakistan's record on terrorism "is only aimed at spreading lies and falsehoods."
