India Rejects Turkey's Statement on Kashmir in UN General Assembly

India has rejected the statement made by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Kashmir in the UNGA. The Ministry of External Affairs has said that Kashmir is an integral part of India. It is a matter of India's integrity and sovereignty. Addressing the press, the Ministry of External Affairs said, "You would have noticed that the remarks you referred to were made by the President of Turkey. India rejects the unwarranted comments made by the President of Turkey in the UN General Assembly about India and the Indian Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir." Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, "As you would understand, this matter is related to India's territorial integrity and sovereignty, and no external party has any locus standi on this issue." Delhi: MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal says, "You would have seen that these remarks were made by the Turkish President and the President of India during the 81st UNGA on September 24."
