India has given a befitting reply to Pakistan on Friday, July 3, over the Indus Waters Treaty. The Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said at the weekly media briefing that India's position on the Indus Waters Treaty remains unchanged due to Pakistan's continued support to cross-border terrorism. The Indus Waters Treaty is currently on hold in response to Pakistan's continued promotion of cross-border terrorism. The Ministry of External Affairs has also responded on the Teesta river project. India has already conveyed its position to Bangladesh on the proposed Teesta river project. Pakistan will have to reliably and firmly abandon its support for cross-border terrorism. India had blocked the Indus Waters Treaty after the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22. Pakistan was outraged after India's strong move earlier this week. Chairman of the Pakistan People's Party Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari called India's use of the waters as a new strategic weapon.
