India Successfully Tests Agni-IV Medium-Range Ballistic Missile

India has successfully test-fired Agni-IV, a medium-range ballistic missile, once again strengthening its nuclear-capable ballistic missile capability. The missile was successfully test-fired from Integrated Test Range Chandipur, Odisha on 6 August 2026. According to defence sources, all operational and technical parameters of the missile were successfully verified in this test. The test was conducted at Strategic Forces Command. Agni-IV is an important link in India's Agni missile family. It is a medium-range ballistic missile capable of striking targets at a range of about 4000 km. In this test from Chandipur, the missile flew on a defined trajectory and met all prescribed parameters. Defence scientists and military officials have described it as a complete success. The test under Strategic Forces Command means that the missile is now in a state of readiness for active military use. Its reliability has been confirmed. Such tests are conducted regularly to ensure reliability, accuracy and tactical accuracy of the missile system. It is being considered a significant step in India's nuclear deterrence capability.
